Responsibilities

Castalia Systems is seeking an Information Security Technician in the Camp Smith, HI area.

 

An Information Security Technician is responsible for supporting the Cybersecurity Governance mission at HQ USINDOPACOM. This role involves policy development and management, Risk Management Framework (RMF) Common Controls oversight, Significant Activities (SIGACT) reporting, and providing high-quality customer service to HQ USINDOPACOM personnel. Key responsibilities encompass policy review and drafting, coordination of Common Control artifacts, management of computer network access, Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) token support, Cybersecurity Workforce program management, and Information System Security Management.

 

A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate on the development of USINDOPACOM Cybersecurity policy by conducting policy research, drafting policy documents, consolidating relevant policies, and tracking policy update timelines.
  • Review SIGACT notifications, coordinate with USINDOPACOM users to address SIGACT actions, and ensure compliance reporting.
  • Execute LRA responsibilities in accordance with the DoD Registration Practice Statement (RPS) and USINDOPACOM Standard Operating Procedures. This includes daily monitoring and processing of Information Assurance ticket requests, creating and replacing SIPR tokens, managing PIN resets, and assisting with LRA audit preparation.
  • Perform assigned ISSM duties, including investigating IA events (e.g., network violations), handling website/port unlock requests, managing classified hard drive destruction, addressing IA policy exceptions (e.g., SIPR CD/DVD burn rights), and fulfilling other functions outlined in applicable USINDOPACOM, Navy, and DoD instructions and policies.
  • Provide Monthly Status Report (MSR) including details on completed deliverables, ongoing tasks, issues requiring Government action, and project statuses.

Qualifications

Security Clearance Requirement:

Active/current TS/SCI clearance is required.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • At least 3+ years’ experience with managing, developing, or preparing RMF the A&A of systems within the DoD.
  • IAW DoDM 8140.03, must meet Intermediate proficiency level.
  • Must have experience with automated C&A and A&A toolsets (e.g. Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Customer service, time management skills technical writing.
  • IAM-II Certification.
